Wonder Woman Review *SPOILER FREE*

Wonder Woman was directed by Patty Jenkins and stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince and is the story of how Wonder Woman left her home on the Amazonian Island to engage in WWI in an attempt to bring down the God of War, Ares. I was extremely excited to watch Wonder Woman. I am among the few who enjoyed Batman V Superman and am one of the few who though Man of Steel had some redeeming qualities. Now, I know I am a pretty big DC fan boy, but I am pretty objective. I admit that neither of those movies were that great. I am pleased to tell you that this is not the case with Wonder Woman. I thought Wonder Woman was one of the greatest breathes of fresh air we've had in recent years. I fell in love with this movie and I honestly cannot wait to go see it again and then buy the Blu-Ray upon it's release.

Let's get in to a few things that worked for me:

1. Patty Jenkins- Now, I knew virtually nothing about her film career, as did most. This was one of the greatest directorial performances I have witnessed in quite some time. Patty Jenkins truly knew what she wanted to do with this movie and that was tremendous. She also made it very reminiscent of Richard Donner's 1978 classic Superman.  Truly great film making at work here.

2. Gal Gadot- Now, Gal Gadot is the perfect Diana Prince. She carried herself so well in this movie. She gave an interview about her performance, and in it she stated there was a difference between acting naive and dumb. Gal Gadot's portrayal of Wonder Woman was spot on with this. She was fun to watch as she discovered the world outside or her Island and explored human life as Diana Prince. Well done Gal.

3. Chris Pine- I enjoy Chris Pine, I think he is a perfectly fine actor. However, before this I never thought he was terrific. This movie changed my perspective. Chris Pine was definitely a driving force with this film. He hit a solid home run and was one of the most comedic characters in the film. I am genuinely sad that this movie took place in the WWI era so he will most likely not return in future movies. Anything can happen though, fingers crossed!

Not every movie is perfect. So let's take a look at what didn't work.

1. The 1st Act- I thought this movie took a little to long to set up and get into anything truly exciting. I understand they are attempting to work a whole universe in and set up new characters.. However, I just wish they would've been more clever with their exposition. I think what they did was fine and it worked for the film, it just would've been nice to see more creativity.

2. The Antagonist- So I have always thought that DC has had some of the greatest villains. While Wonder Woman attempted to use one of the greatest in the movie, at times he fell flat. They did fine with what they had, I just wish I could've seen a lot more of the villain. Also, I think due to the choices with this villain it greatly reduces the replay value of the film.

Overall, I had an excellent time with Wonder Woman. I thought it was excellently directed and acted. It was hands down the best in the new DC cinematic universe. While it did not have a strong villain and had a slow start, those things were greatly overshadowed by every other amazing thing in the film. I am genuinely excited to see what Patty Jenkins can do in the future as a director and this film gave me strong hopes for Justice League. I am going to give Wonder Woman an A

It Comes At Night Review

It Comes At Night is the story of  six different people and their story of survival after a tragic event begins to diminish the worlds population. It Comes At Night was written and directed by Trey Edward Shults and stars Joel Edgerton, Christopher Abbott, Carmen Ejogo, Riley Keough, Griffin Faulkner and Kelvin Harrison Jr.  I was very excited for this movie after seeing all of the trailers and marketing for this film. I was expecting and exciting and gripping thriller. One that would keep me on my toes and one have a strong sense of excitement. It's safe to say.. I was wrong, but in the best possible way. It Comes At Night was absolutely nothing like I thought it was going to be and that was honestly the best part about it. It was an unconventional and a gigantic risk, and that is what I think we need more of. This movie was genuinely creepy and had a lot of scenes that caused the hair on the back of my neck to stand up. I was enthralled in every scene of this movi...

Spider-Man:Homecoming Review *SPOILER FREE*

Spider-Man: Homecoming was directed by Jon Watts and stars Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Robert Downey Jr, Jacob Batalon and Civil War and is the story of Peter Parker learning to become Spider-Man. I am a huge Spider-Man fan, I loved the first two Sam Raimi films. Spider-Man 2 being one of the most important films I have seen. It was after Spider-Man 2 I wanted to start watching movies and learning as much as I could. So this was a movie that I was really excited to see but it had a lot of expectations to meet in my eyes. After seeing this movie, most of my expectations were met but a few were not. This was a really fun movie and one that I enjoyed a lot. I just found this movie to be a little underwhelming. Zendaya. It is the newest marvel film, and their first chance to make a Spider-Man movie. It takes place a few months after the events off But first let's take a look at the positives: 1. Tone - This was a true Spider-Man movie ...

Dunkirk Review

Dunkirk was directed by Christopher Nolan and was the dramatic depiction of the Battle of Dunkirk. It stars a wide variety of actors like Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance, Fionn Whitehead, Jack Lowden, Harry Styles and Cillian Murphy. I was really excited to see Dunkirk , I am a fan of war movies and I think Nolan is a terrific director. After walking out of Dunkirk , I was really impressed. The whole premise of this movie is not what I thought it would be. I am used to getting the stereotypical war movie, Dunkirk was anything but that. It was innovative and gripping and chose to tell a really compelling story in the most creative way. This was a visual masterpiece. Let's look at the best parts: 1. The Production - This movie was unbelievably real in it's production. Nolan used as many practical effects as he could. It was constructed with real planes, real boats and real locations. Nolan didn't cut any corners in his portrayal of this battle. I was just...
