Blood Father Review

Blood Father was directed by Jean-François Richet and stars Mel Gibson as Link, an ex-con who is put in a very difficult situation when his estranged daughter Lydia (Erin Moriarty) shows up needing protection from drug dealers. I saw this movie when it originally came out last August and was really blown away by how fun this movie was. It wasn't given a wide theatrical release and didn't have a lot of support, which in my opinion is sad. This was one of my favorite action movies of 2016. Blood Father is super gritty and has a lot of intense scenes. If you're wanting to watch a strong and fun actions movie, I highly recommend Blood Father.

This movie had a lot to offer:

1. Style- I loved the style of this movie, it was a lot grittier than some of the action movies I saw last year. It made a point to be a really practical and realistic in it's direction. I loved that about this movie. Much like movies like John Wick, this is a movie that you could tell took it's time to make something very realistic. I loved the action in this movie, it just felt real.

2. Mel Gibson- This man proved to me he is a fantastic actor. He can sell a fight scene and really make you engaged his work. I am a firm believer if this would've been any other actor it wouldn't have been nearly as interesting. Mel Gibson sold every scene he was in as an ex-con. He was funny when he needed to be and just really amazing. This was one of my favorite performances he's done.

3. Pacing- This was a movie that never once dragged. It was pretty quick moving from start to finish. This help create a fun and strong movie. It was never boring and was a great way to pass time.

I didn't have that many problems with it:

1. Character Development- The one big flaw I had with this movie, I never felt like the characters were fully fleshed out. This lead to a lack of chemistry and at times it diminished the sense of suspense. If I don't care about the characters, it's sometimes hard to care about the things happening on screen. This movie really suffered in that aspect.

Overall, I really enjoyed Blood Father. I thought it was beautiful looking film, that had pretty amazing stunt work and fun action. I wish the characters were further developed, but that didn't distract from the movie that much. Where the characters lacked, the action and excitement made up for it. If you want to pass the time and enjoy a pretty good action movie, I suggest checking out Blood Father. I am going to give Blood Father a B+.

It Comes At Night Review

It Comes At Night is the story of  six different people and their story of survival after a tragic event begins to diminish the worlds population. It Comes At Night was written and directed by Trey Edward Shults and stars Joel Edgerton, Christopher Abbott, Carmen Ejogo, Riley Keough, Griffin Faulkner and Kelvin Harrison Jr.  I was very excited for this movie after seeing all of the trailers and marketing for this film. I was expecting and exciting and gripping thriller. One that would keep me on my toes and one have a strong sense of excitement. It's safe to say.. I was wrong, but in the best possible way. It Comes At Night was absolutely nothing like I thought it was going to be and that was honestly the best part about it. It was an unconventional and a gigantic risk, and that is what I think we need more of. This movie was genuinely creepy and had a lot of scenes that caused the hair on the back of my neck to stand up. I was enthralled in every scene of this movi...

Spider-Man:Homecoming Review *SPOILER FREE*

Spider-Man: Homecoming was directed by Jon Watts and stars Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Robert Downey Jr, Jacob Batalon and Civil War and is the story of Peter Parker learning to become Spider-Man. I am a huge Spider-Man fan, I loved the first two Sam Raimi films. Spider-Man 2 being one of the most important films I have seen. It was after Spider-Man 2 I wanted to start watching movies and learning as much as I could. So this was a movie that I was really excited to see but it had a lot of expectations to meet in my eyes. After seeing this movie, most of my expectations were met but a few were not. This was a really fun movie and one that I enjoyed a lot. I just found this movie to be a little underwhelming. Zendaya. It is the newest marvel film, and their first chance to make a Spider-Man movie. It takes place a few months after the events off But first let's take a look at the positives: 1. Tone - This was a true Spider-Man movie ...

Dunkirk Review

Dunkirk was directed by Christopher Nolan and was the dramatic depiction of the Battle of Dunkirk. It stars a wide variety of actors like Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance, Fionn Whitehead, Jack Lowden, Harry Styles and Cillian Murphy. I was really excited to see Dunkirk , I am a fan of war movies and I think Nolan is a terrific director. After walking out of Dunkirk , I was really impressed. The whole premise of this movie is not what I thought it would be. I am used to getting the stereotypical war movie, Dunkirk was anything but that. It was innovative and gripping and chose to tell a really compelling story in the most creative way. This was a visual masterpiece. Let's look at the best parts: 1. The Production - This movie was unbelievably real in it's production. Nolan used as many practical effects as he could. It was constructed with real planes, real boats and real locations. Nolan didn't cut any corners in his portrayal of this battle. I was just...
