Transformers The Last Knight Review *SPOILER FREE*

Transformers The Last Night is the fifth transformers movie we have gotten from director Michael Bay, and to be honest not much has changed. I enjoyed the first Transformers movie quite a bit! I had a lot of fun with it and it holds sentimental value for me as I got to be on set and see the behind the scenes of the movie. Going into this movie, I had no expectations. The Transformers movies have gotten really bad in recent years and each one grows progressively longer and is essentially the same exact movie. That's what we got with The Last Knight. More of the same. There were big battles, tons of explosions and useless characters and plots. That being said, it isn't the worst one in the franchise. That title goes to Revenge of the Fallen.

Michael Bay can do some things right:

1. Production- I don't care who you are, you have to give credit where credit is due and Michael Bay can make a fun and huge production. He can command the screen and his team and produce something that looks fun and exciting. He can get shots that are difficult to get and do them well. I have never once said these films don't look good. They do, they look really stunning. I think Michael Bay knows what he is doing and has really perfected his craft.

2. Fun Scenes- I'd be lying to you if I said this movie was void of any fun moments. This movie had some really fun scenes. It was fun to see Bumblebee and Optimus Prime Fighting. It was fun to watch my favorite transformer Hot Shot come on screen and be really fun. I liked the gigantic show that was the third act. It was fun. I didn't have to think to much, I was entertained during some scenes and when the transformers are on screen it gets exciting.

This movie is far from perfect:

1. Plot- One thing Michael Bay can do is make a fun movie, he cannot make a truly interesting one. This movie had way too many subplots that went no where fast. I wasn't captivated by anyone in the movie. Mark Whalberg was okay and the rest of the cast was pretty forgettable. This is something that has plagued the Transformers movies for years now. They try way too hard to make something serious and give it a military and government feel. Those scenes feel wasted and dramatically add on to the run time of the movie. I am a firm believer, should we cut out the useless military and government scenes to focus strictly on the transformers, they'd be good.

2. Unfunny- This movie barley has any funny moments. Which would be okay, if they didn't try to add humor into the film. None of the jokes in this movie landed for me. My whole theater was quiet and only a few people laughed occasionally. It had really annoying characters that just dragged the movie. I'm looking at you Cogman.

3. The First Act- The entire first act of this movie was so jumble and poorly edited. It had no thread and quickly changed angles and had some really bad jump cuts. I was confused and felt disoriented. It felt like the first act of this movie was just thrown together. Characters just appear out of nowhere and Michael Bay changed from Wide Screen to Full Screen way too much in the first act. It was extremely distracting.

This movie was okay. It wasn't the worst Transformers, but definitely not a great one. It was a severe middle of the road movie with not a lot of interest parts. While it was big fun action movie, it never really had my attention as every character was pretty disposable. If you just want to watch a fun and entertaining movie Transformers is the one for you! I am going to give Transformers The Last Knight a C.

It Comes At Night Review

It Comes At Night is the story of  six different people and their story of survival after a tragic event begins to diminish the worlds population. It Comes At Night was written and directed by Trey Edward Shults and stars Joel Edgerton, Christopher Abbott, Carmen Ejogo, Riley Keough, Griffin Faulkner and Kelvin Harrison Jr.  I was very excited for this movie after seeing all of the trailers and marketing for this film. I was expecting and exciting and gripping thriller. One that would keep me on my toes and one have a strong sense of excitement. It's safe to say.. I was wrong, but in the best possible way. It Comes At Night was absolutely nothing like I thought it was going to be and that was honestly the best part about it. It was an unconventional and a gigantic risk, and that is what I think we need more of. This movie was genuinely creepy and had a lot of scenes that caused the hair on the back of my neck to stand up. I was enthralled in every scene of this movi...

Spider-Man:Homecoming Review *SPOILER FREE*

Spider-Man: Homecoming was directed by Jon Watts and stars Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Robert Downey Jr, Jacob Batalon and Civil War and is the story of Peter Parker learning to become Spider-Man. I am a huge Spider-Man fan, I loved the first two Sam Raimi films. Spider-Man 2 being one of the most important films I have seen. It was after Spider-Man 2 I wanted to start watching movies and learning as much as I could. So this was a movie that I was really excited to see but it had a lot of expectations to meet in my eyes. After seeing this movie, most of my expectations were met but a few were not. This was a really fun movie and one that I enjoyed a lot. I just found this movie to be a little underwhelming. Zendaya. It is the newest marvel film, and their first chance to make a Spider-Man movie. It takes place a few months after the events off But first let's take a look at the positives: 1. Tone - This was a true Spider-Man movie ...

Dunkirk Review

Dunkirk was directed by Christopher Nolan and was the dramatic depiction of the Battle of Dunkirk. It stars a wide variety of actors like Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance, Fionn Whitehead, Jack Lowden, Harry Styles and Cillian Murphy. I was really excited to see Dunkirk , I am a fan of war movies and I think Nolan is a terrific director. After walking out of Dunkirk , I was really impressed. The whole premise of this movie is not what I thought it would be. I am used to getting the stereotypical war movie, Dunkirk was anything but that. It was innovative and gripping and chose to tell a really compelling story in the most creative way. This was a visual masterpiece. Let's look at the best parts: 1. The Production - This movie was unbelievably real in it's production. Nolan used as many practical effects as he could. It was constructed with real planes, real boats and real locations. Nolan didn't cut any corners in his portrayal of this battle. I was just...
